SUMMARY:Connecting through cancer
DESCRIPTION:A psychosocial therapy group for people who have completed cancer treatment \n  \n\nHave you completed your main cancer treatment?\nDo you feel isolated\, stuck\, and ‘not quite right’ since treatment has finished?\nWould you like to make sense of the impact cancer has on you?\n\n  \nA therapy group for you… \nGroup therapy can help \n\ncreate change through hearing others’ experiences\nmake sense of cancer treatment and its effects on the body\, identity and relationships\nunderstand some of the emotions that come with cancer\, like fear\, sorrow\, frustration\, anger\nyou live well\n\nThe group is held by Dr Sue Smith\, Consultant Psychologist. She has over 25 years’ experience of working in the NHS\, and specialises in supporting people affected by cancer. \nSue will talk with you first to see if the group is right for you. \nIt is free of charge and is open to anyone who has completed main cancer treatment. It is a closed group for 8 people. \nStarting in May this session will take place every Wednesday 4-5.30pm\, in person\, weekly for 30 weeks.

DESCRIPTION:A group-based 8-week course for people who have completed their cancer treatment. \n\nHave you completed your cancer treatment in the last 5 years?\nDo you worry a lot about your cancer coming back?\nDoes your worry get in the way of living your life after cancer?\nFor example\, does your worry lead you to frequently check for signs of cancer?\nDoes your worry affect relationships with others?\nDoes your worry mean you miss out on things you enjoy?\nAre you finding it hard to get motivated to do the things that matter to you?\n\n  \nThis group-based course is designed to provide you with ways of understanding and managing your worry so that you can get on with living. \n  \nThis course is free of charge \nWomen and men of all ages are welcome \nMembers need to attend at least 6 of the sessions \n  \nTo refer yourself or find out more please contact                                                                        gst-tr.postdimblebyappointment@nhs.net or leave a message at Dimbleby Cancer Care Reception (020 7188 5918) and we will get back to you.
